Product Description

Designed with beauty, functionality, and longevity in mind, Chilewich table mats wipe clean and retain their like-new appearance through many years of use, indoors or out. The collection is free of phthalates and easy to clean with soap and water. “The textures, patterns, and colors of our mats become the first layer upon which everything else sits,” says founder and creative director Sandy Chilewich. “They set the tone for a table.”

Chilewich woven mats also contain Microban® antimicrobial protection. This is particularly beneficial for the home and hospitality markets. Microban® works continuously for the lifetime of the product to inhibit the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew.

TerraStrand‚Ñ¢, the proprietary name for Chilewich yarns, is 100% phthalate-free, lead-free and contains 25% renewable vegetable content. Using this renewable, bio-based compound results in a 40% reduction in greenhouse gases compared to other plasticizers.

Care Instructions

Simply wipe clean with soap, water, and sponge. Air dry. Do not iron. Do not machine wash/dishwasher wash. Do not fold.

Hot objects may damage your placemat/runner. Use a trivet to protect your placemat/runner from excessive heat.

More permanent stains may result when certain foods or liquids (e.g. tomato, hot pepper sauce, turmeric) are left on the placemat or runner for long periods before cleaning. This is more likely to occur with lighter-color textiles. Make sure to remove such spills quickly.

To sanitize/disinfect, for all woven products except printed design, a 50:1 water/bleach solution left on the surface for at least one minute will thoroughly clean and disinfect the material. Hydrogen Peroxide is a bleach-free way to sanitize/disinfect your Chilewich product. Use Hydrogen Peroxide if your mat is pressed table mat / printed design.

Notes before purchase

Chilewich takes pride in its high-quality product and workmanship. There is a 1cm +/- size tolerance allowed in either direction from the size as listed on the website. All Chilewich mats are made with the latest color technology to prevent fading. But, like all textiles, the mats may fade when placed under sunlight for protracted periods.
